What coverages does a Belsura Cyber Insurance provide?

Misuse of online payment cards (credit/debit card fraud)

Shopping online is convenient - but unfortunately, fraud can happen too. With your Belsura protection, you're covered if someone steals your debit or credit card details and misuses them on the Internet.

What is covered?
If your payment card details are obtained illegally by third parties (e.g. phishing, hacking, skimming) and then misused on the Internet, we will cover the financial loss up to a maximum of CHF 5'000.–.

What is not insured?
If your payment card is stolen or lost and then misused, this protection does not apply.

Disputes arising from consumer contracts (purchase protection)

Whether for concert tickets, car hire or streaming subscriptions, online shopping is convenient, but sometimes things don't go as planned. With Belsura, you're covered in the event of fraud, incorrect or missing delivery, loss or damage to your purchases and services for private use.

What is covered?
We protect you in the event of problems with the following online contracts:

  • Buying and selling goods.
  • Purchase of concert, plane, train, cinema tickets and package trips.
  • Renting goods (e.g. hire cars).
  • Reservation of hotels, holiday flats & camping pitches (up to a maximum of 3 months).
  • Use of transport services (e.g. Uber, MyTaxi).
  • Subscriptions such as streaming music, telecommunications, online periodicals, cloud storage.

Important notes
Maximum cover: up to CHF 2'500.– per case.
Deductible: CHF 200.– per claim.

Violation of copyright, naming rights and trademark rights by third parties

Your name, your brand or your creative work are unique, but what happens if someone uses them illegally on the Internet? With Belsura, you are not alone! We support you in civil law disputes when third parties violate your copyright, name or brand.

What is covered?
You are covered if someone infringes your copyright, name or trademark on the Internet. We cover the costs of legal action.

What is not covered?
No protection in the event of domaingrabbing or cybersquatting.

Important information
Maximum cover: up to CHF 20'000.– for legal protection services.

Cybermobbing (violation of personality rights on the Internet)

The Internet forgets nothing - but we make sure you're not left unprotected. If you are a victim of cybermobbing, we won't leave you alone. Belsura will help you remove content that violates your personality and will support you if you need psychological support.

What is covered?
We cover the costs of deleting or modifying content that violates your personality, as well as psychological support for you as a victim of cybermobbing.

Important information
Coverage of the cost of deleting/modifying content: up to CHF 10'000.–.
Psychological support: up to CHF 1'000.–.

Misuse of internet identity

Is someone pretending to be you online? Whether it's the fraudulent conclusion of a contract in your name or damage to your reputation, with Belsura, you are not left to fend for yourself. We protect you against the consequences of identity theft on the Internet.

What is covered?
Illegal appropriation to conclude a contract: if someone concludes contracts on the Internet using your stolen identity (e.g. for purchases or subscriptions), we cover the financial damage.
Illegal appropriation to damage reputation: if someone publishes offensive content in your name or damages your reputation, we will support you with legal protection services.

Financial damage: we'll pay up to CHF 5'000.–.
Legal protection benefits for damage to reputation without financial loss: up to CHF 20'000.–.

What conditions do I need to meet to take out a Belsura cyber insurance policy?

You live in Switzerland and are a private individual. No cyber insurance has been canceled for you or for any co-insured person.

Who is covered by the cyber insurance?

The insured persons include yourself and your family members who live in the same household (spouse/partner, children up to 26 years old).

How do I proceed to take out a Belsura cyber insurance policy?

You are just a few steps away from completing your insurance subscription:

  1. Visit the website.
  2. Select the start date of your insurance.
  3. Fill in your personal details.
  4. Finalize your subscription by clicking on «Subscribe now». Your policy is now legally binding, and you do not need to sign anything.
  5. To confirm your email address, you will receive a link via email. In the final step, click on this link to activate your cyber insurance.

What should I do in case of a claim?

Terms and conditions of insurance

How long is my cyber insurance valid?

Your cyber insurance is valid for one year from the chosen start date. After that, it is automatically extended for another year.

Where is my Belsura cyber insurance valid?

The cyber insurance is valid worldwide.

Who is my contractual partner?

TONI Digital Insurance Solutions AG acts as a tied insurance intermediary for the insurance companies listed below. Belsura is a registered trademark of TONI, under which the cyber insurance product of the listed insurance companies is distributed online.

The insurer for legal protection services is Assista Protection juridique SA, chemin de Blandonnet 4, 1214 Vernier GE.

The insurer for financial loss compensation is TAS Assurances SA, chemin de Blandonnet 4, 1214 Vernier GE.

What are the cancellation terms for Belsura cyber insurance?

From the second year of insurance, you can cancel the cyber insurance with a notice period of one month. If you cancel during the second year, the premium will be refunded to you on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance.
